Jan 31, 2009 - Slides & Playgrounds

Ola Sequoia,

You say "oh dear" nonstop now. And it's hilarious! You make me laugh incessantly. Thanks for tickling my funny bone, my love. You say it when you can't find your book, your clip, your little doggy soft toy...

You made me laugh at church today when you were singing along in your out-of-tune voice :-) Everyone was looking at you amusedly :-)

Then after church when we were going to buy some food back, you kept pointing out all the slides in the playgrounds as we zoomed past them in Ah Ma's car...

Your're funny! I can't believe your eyes are so sharp. You have successfully used your eyes as a GPS service and located all the playground with slides in a 3 km radious around Holy Family church! Well done, little Fofinha!

Love,
Momma

Jan 15, 2009 - "Oh Dear..."

Hello my little Boboletta,

You surprised Momma when you said, "oh dear," when you couldn't find your hair clip in the morning today. I was so proud of you! You hear me saying, "oh dear" all the time and now you are mouthing it back to me :-) Well done, my love...

I love how you have a routine each morning when you wake. First, you will touch the top of your head to check if you have your hair clip on. I love how you are such a girly girl. Some babies dont like stuff on their heads. But you love hair clips, hats, ponytail holders... how I love you for being this way :-)

Next, you will look for Momma's glasses. You will then make your way to where the glasses are displayed, pick them up, pull back each of the side frame handles of the glasses and then pass them to me. Dare I say I now have my own personal butler? :-) Well done, Boboletta!

Usually, after this, you will look for my mobile phone. Once you locate it, you usually walk towards it and grab it. Thankfully, you don't throw it to me like you sometimes did in the past. Nowadays, you cleverly hand me the phone as you know I will need it as we go downstairs to have breakfast.

Now is the time you usually have your nappy changed. I usually give you a few minutes to leak into the nappy from the previous night so you dont majorly soil the new nappy in the morning :-) After this, you will take the soiled wet nappy and fling it to the floor near the entrance of the bedroom door. You know all too well that we will then kick the nappy down the stairs as we proceed to go downstairs to start the day :-) Clever girl, my love...

Once Momma is armed with her glasses, mobile phone in tow, we make our way down the stairs, one "numeral" at a time. I love how you try to imitate me when we count our way downstairs. "Bund," you say, when you are trying to say, "one." "Two" does sound like two. Three sounds like a "twee..." You are so lovable and adorable!

You now also know how to say "football" rather clearly. I notice your dexterity at handling balls. Will you be a super professional ball player when you grow up? Hmmmmm....

It is very interesting to see the way you perfect those curved ball throws you have been giving since some 6-9 months ago. Only now, you are able to pass the ball from your hands through your legs in a front to back push motion. I was really surprised to see your maturity and dexterity at handling the ball. You made Momma proud!

You have now been feeding Momma, Ah Ma and Gong Gong with your cornflakes. You use your little fingers, pry them rather excitedly into the little tupperware container, then pick up a fingerful of cornflakes and gesture it toward my mouth. "Erh," you say, using your baby language to ask Momma to eat it. Thanks for sharing. I told you sharing is good. You get more hugs and kisses for it, my love...

Nowadays, you know how to say, "nao, nao, nao, nao, nao," when you don't want something. You say it pretty clearly, too. Momma is impressed! Gone are the little high pitched shreiks. Now, you are slowly but surely able to articulate more and have added some new words to your vocabulary. I am really so proud of you, my love. You make Momma smile and laugh everyday. I read long ago that "Laughter is the Best Medicine" and I will now vouch that you make everyday worth living!

I love you with all my heart.

Love,
Momma
